15 injured in knife attack at Japanese tyre rubber factory
More than a dozen people have been injured after a knife attack at a tyre factory in Japan.
A man has been arrested after eight people were stabbed and seven others were injured with what was believed to be bleach, the Associated Press reported.
It happened earlier today at the Yokohama Rubber Company in Mishima, west Tokyo, according to the Fujisan Nanto Fire Department.
The fire department said five of the individuals who were stabbed were in a serious condition, but could not comment on the other affected individuals.
All the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested for alleged attempted murder, though his motive remains unknown, the Shizuoka prefectural police said.
Local reports described the suspect as wearing a gas mask and carrying a survival knife at the time of the attack.
