Not even $1bn could make me join politics – Oyedepo
The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), David Oyedepo, has declared that partisan politics is off his calling, saying no sum of money—even $1 billion—could persuade him to enter politics.

He made the statement while addressing worshippers at the church’s annual Shiloh 2025 convocation, urging members to focus on their divine assignments rather than pursuits outside their God-given purpose.
“Partisan politics is off my calling. If you give me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it’s off my course,” Oyedepo said.
Reflecting on past warnings, he reminded the congregation of his 2015 caution about impending troubles, asking, “Didn’t trouble come?”
Oyedepo emphasized that the world needs divine solutions to deepening crises, quoting Romans 8:19: “The world is groaning in darkness” and awaiting the actions of God’s children.
He concluded by encouraging believers to stay committed to their purpose, assuring that the “army of God” will rise to provide answers to national and global challenges in the manner of Joseph and Daniel, ushering a new era of unprecedented solutions.
