Woman jailed for hitting friend over the head with Lambrini bottle after ‘affair’

A woman flew into a violent rage after thinking her partner was cheating with her lifelong friend, filmed the attacks and shared the footage on social media.
Kelsey Bainbridge, 26, posted clips of her brutal assaults after smashing her friend around the head with a Lambrini bottle and repeatedly punching the father of her child in the face.
She also used a broken ornament in an attempt to slash her partner’s neck before she was eventually arrested, making her way to her friend’s home armed with a spade, Teesside Crown Court heard.
Bainbridge has been jailed for two-and-a-half years after she pleaded guilty to attempted wounding with intent to the male victim she struck with a plate, and admitted having an offensive weapon, a shovel, during the incident in County Durham on July 6 this year.
The mum, of Ox Close Crescent, Spennymoor, denied wounding the woman with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm with the wine bottle.

She did, however, admit a lesser charge of wounding, but without intent to cause GBH. Clips of Bainbridge’s attack went viral across the internet after she posted them while full of rage.
Shaun Dryden, prosecuting, said the female victim fell asleep on Bainbridge’s sofa after they returned home following a night out in Spennymoor, County Durham.
‘She awoke in the early hours of the morning when she was attacked by the defendant who struck her a number of times to the head with a Lambrini bottle,’ he said.
‘She was left with a number of cuts. The victim learned later from social media posts that it was the defendant’s belief that this victim had been sleeping with her partner.’
The court heard how Bainbridge attacked the woman again when she returned to pick up her phone and keys.
Turning to the attack on her now former partner, Mr Dryden said the attacks on him were caught on camera and uploaded to social media.
He added: ‘The first clip shows her headbutting and punching him to the head, and the second one, which lasted for three minutes, showed her accusing him of cheating on her.
‘She then breaks an ornament over his head and then stabs him in the neck with the piece of broken ornament before slashing at his face. There are a number of blows delivered with the weapon, and she strikes him on the head a number of times before headbutting him.’
He said neither of them wished to provide a victim’s personal statement.
The court heard how Bainbridge was arrested while carrying a shovel as she headed towards her lifelong friend’s home.
She was heavily intoxicated and aggressive and told police, ‘I walked in on him sh****** her, of course I was going to kick f*** out of them both’.
Both victims categorically denied the allegation that they were cheating on Bainbridge, who was heavily intoxicated at the time with alcohol and cocaine.
Tony Davis, mitigating, said: ‘Her background is littered with some tragic life events which have all crystallised into a chaotic period of time where she was plainly self-medicating with illegal substances.
‘She was simply crying out for help, and that is a recurring theme in her pre-sentence report.’
Judge Nathan Adams jailed Bainbridge for a total of two years and six months for all offences.
He said: ‘On that occasion, you had been taking alcohol and cocaine, you formed the view that your partner had been sleeping with your longtime friend.
‘That was not the case, but that was the view that you took. You decided to assault both of them. The attack on your partner, you decided to video your attack on him and livestream or post it on social media.’
