In baskets full, in plates piled high,
We take, we taste, and let some die.
Half a loaf, a bruised red pear,
So often tossed without a care.
The earth has tilled, the farmers toiled,
The seeds were sown, the soil was spoiled.
Rain has fallen, sun has shone,
Yet scraps are wasted, food undone.
Every grain and every crust,
Deserves our love, respect, and trust.
For while some feast and throw away,
Others starve through night and day.
Save the meal, share the bread,
Cook with thought, not waste instead.
Plan the portions, store with grace,
Let no good food go to waste.
A mindful choice, a simple start,
Can heal the world, one caring heart.
So eat with wisdom, honor the plate,
Together we can change fate.
